Go Green Starts From Your Home

Before joining the Go Green competition organised by Leo Club of Penang City,
the four of us ( Pei Cing, Cai Qian, Wan Pei and Yng Shin) went to McDonald to
discuss on what should we do.

Magble is short form of magazine table.
See that cardboard that is flipped by Azizi?
it's for you to throw all those nuts or Gua Zi after eating them
or you can put your remote control in it.
I actually like the combination of red colour and black colour.
modern and sharp colours.

And believe or not,
we got consolation prize!
It's surprising because there's a lot more products which is more unique.

And, our group are named 6-IN.
it's because every member has the letter 'I' and 'N' in our names.
and 6-IN actually means 16 which is our age.
And we have difficulty in deciding our group names.

Environmental Awareness Campaign.

Go Green Starts from your home


LEO CLUB OF PENANG (CITY) is organizing an Environemntal Awareness Campaign with theme "Go Green Starts From Your Home" on 21st November 2009 @ Queensbay Mall, Penang with the support from Malaysian Celebrities Go Green.


A series of activities are planned for this campaign. They are:-
  • Recycling Items Design Competition.
  • Exhibitions by Jabatan Perhilitan Pulau Pinang & New Century Lions Club of Penang Island
  • Collecting Recyclable Items from Public
  • Meet Celebrity Judges from Malaysian Celebrities Go Green, Baki Zainal & Azizi Zakaria

Let's talk about the Recycling Items Design Competition, the details of the competition is as below:-


  • Date: 21st November 2009 (Saturday)
  • Time: 1pm (Registration), 2pm to 5pm (Competition)
  • Venue: Queensbay Mall, North Zone, Level 1 (Right in front of Maybank)
  • Admission: RM 20 (2 to 4 persons)

Term of Entry:

  • participant must register for participation before 1p.m. on the day of competition.
    The competition is open to public. The organizing team members are not allowed to participate in the competition.
  • Participants are required to use recycle material such as, bottle, old clothing, and damaged item and transform them into useful household furniture and ornament. For example: furniture, closet, aquarium, piggy bank, clock, shoe rack, curtain and so on.
  • The competition is conducted in groups; each group consists of 2 to 4 people. Registration fee for each group is RM20.
  • All entries must be completed within the 3 hours time frame. All entries could be colored.
  • Upon completion all group are given 3 minutes to make a brief presentation regarding their work of art. Participants could choose among Chinese or English as medium.
  • Plagiarisms are strictly forbidden.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to carry out an auction. Proceeds will be taken as donation for charity purposes. No objections should be made.
  • The judging panel members have final decision on the result of the contest.
  • The organizing team has the right to make any amendment on the rules and regulation of the competition.

参赛细则 :

  • 参赛者必须在比赛当天21/11/2009 (星期六)下午1时正前报到。
  • 参赛者年龄不拘,为主办及协办单位之委员不可参加。
  • 参赛者须用再循环之材料如罐子,纸皮,瓶子,旧衣物,和已损坏物品等,制造适合摆放在家居的小型家具或摆设物。如:桌椅、 衣柜、 相架、 鱼缸 、扑满、 时钟、 鞋架、 窗帘等。
  • 比赛以组别方式进行,每组由2至4人组成。 报名费每组只须RM20。
  • 参赛组合须在3个小时内创作并完成其作品,作品可涂上颜色。
  • 参赛组合在完成作品后,须为其作品做不超过3分钟的简单推介。参赛者可选用华语或英文为媒介。
  • 参赛作品须为参赛组合之原创作品,不可抄袭。
  • 主办单位有权将参赛作品在现场拍卖,并将所得捐献给“怡然精舍中心”,参赛者不可异议。
  • 评审团的决定为最后决定,任何投诉怒不受理。
  • 主办当局有权增删及修改比赛细则。

DISTRICT 308 B2 LEO CAMP 2009,

DATE : 4th to 6th DECEMBER 2009

VENUE: White Resort Camp, Balik Pulau, Penang.


THEME: ENERGIZE GROWTH

Registration fee for Leo is RM 100.00 per person register before 15th November 2009, including 2-nights accommodation based on shared room, 2(two) breakfasts, 3(three) lunches, 2(two) dinner, 2(two) suppers & Insurance coverage during the camp. The registration will be limited for 150 pax and based on first come first serve basis.

The objectives of this camp are:
• To create and foster a spirit of understanding amongst Leos in the District 308 B2
• To instill in Leo members the safety and appreciation of the environment
• To provide activities promoting teamwork, discipline, tolerance, independence and self-endurance
• To encourage sharing of ideas throughout the District 308 B2
• To develop leadership potential among Leos

Activities such as Cooking Competition, Team-building, Treasure Hunt and Fellowship will be further value-added with other camping skills sessions like the pitching of tents, selecting campsites, and starting a fire.

To ensure that your place in the camp is reserved, kindly return the registration form, duly signed, no later than 15th November 2009: -
(a) Official Registration Form
(b) Club Registration Form
(c) Appropriate amount of payment in the form of crossed cheque or demand draft payable to:
“LEO CLUB OF PENANG (CITY)”
(d) 2 (two) colour passport size photographs of each participant (compulsory)
(e) Retain photocopies of forms for own reference

Note:
* Groups will be divided before the Leo Camp. Please refer to website for more information.

** During the cooking competition, there must be 5(five) dishes, consisting of either a chicken or fish, rice or noodle, vegetable, soup and dessert or drink. Food and utensils should be self brought by the participants. The group members during the Leo Camp should contact each other for the arrangement.
