To jumpstart our fiscal year of 2017, as the tradition goes,
Leo Club of PCGHS organized a school clean-up event to act as a marker for the
start of the fiscal year. The club members were eager to participate because
not only were they happy to contribute to Leo Club, but also to contribute to
the cleanliness of our school compound, thus ensuring a healthier, safer and
cleaner environment for our school students. As far as the cleanliness of our
school compound goes, PCGHS has always provided a clean and comfortable
environment for our students, so our aim of this event is to pass on the flame that
our previous members have lit, that is, to maintain the cleanliness of our
school compound, and giving ourselves a part in building a heavenly paradise
for the great education that is about to come our way. The BOD this year tried
a more creative approach to win the willingness of the young members to
participate in this event. It is known that the Generation Z has indeed a shorter
attention span than an average adult. Therefore to conquer this phenomena of
the modern age, the BOD have applied the old saying “All work and no play makes
Jack a dull boy” into use. We started off with some station games that
stimulated the competitive energy among the members, after having fun, we have
noticed a tremendous change in the clean-up event that came afterwards. The members
were more willing than ever to clean-up the school, they did it with more
energy, more smiles on their faces, and compassion in their hearts. Leaded by our Health and Environmental Director,
Leo Renee Yee, the event was held from 10.00a.m. to 11.30a.m. and the school
corridors were cleaned as a result. So I, hereby declare this an appreciation
post, thank you to all the members that worked hard today, you have our utmost
appreciation and gratitude; and kudos to the BODs (“old” or shall I say
experienced, and new) for coming up with such a creative way to organize this
event, and then later contributing so much to this event to make it run
smoothly. ROAR!
