Jom, Bersih! Cleaning Gurney 2012

" JOM BERSIH! BERSIH! WE CLEAN TOGETHER! "
This is an event jointly organised by YB Koay Teng Hai Service Team and New Century Lions Club of Penang Island. Co-organised by Region 1 Leo Clubs and Persatuan Bunga Rose. Endorsed by Penang State Government and Malaysia Book of Record.
Our members gathered at Gurney Drive as early as 6:30 in the morning to register themselves and to get their free T-shirts. The day started off with Oppa Gangnam Style dance by OCs. After getting our tools and gloves, we went down to the seashore to collect the rubbish.

After the cleaning session, everyone were given a certificate and goodie bag which contains a food container each.
It's a tiring yet satisfying day. We're proud to attend this great event and help in keeping Gurney Drive clean. ROAR!

Walk for Sight and Sound '12

The annual "Walk For Sight" was held on the 2nd of Septmenber, organised by Lions Club of Georgetown Perdana 4th year running. The blind-folded walk was organised to raise funds for St. Nicholas Home as well as for Penang Deaf Association. This year, WFSS was held at Beach Street, Penang. Our members reached there at 7:00am to register and to get our goodies bags. :D

Warming up.

St George's School Band leaded the walk.

Walking in a line, holding each others shoulder, blind-folded. :)

Or a sighted participant will lead another blind-folded participant to walk. :)

PCGHS energetic ROAR while walking!

Photo when we stopped to rest at Esplanade.

Group photo with our certifications when we reach the finishing line.

We got the 2nd best attendance on the day while Leo Club of CLHS got 1st by having 3 more participants than us.

Even though none of our members was lucky enough to win something during the Lucky Draw session, but anyway WFSS'12 gave us the opportunity to experience blindness and most importantly, taught us to value sight and to appreciate teamwork.
ROAR!
